Brief bio:Education: I started
my secondary educational career in the fall of 2006 as a business major at
Samford University in Birmingham, AL. I
quickly realized that business was not what God had in store for me, so I ended
up transferring to UAB to pursue a degree in exercise science. Towards the end
of my time at UAB I had officially decided to apply for physical therapy
school. After graduating in the spring of 2011 & anxiously awaiting
acceptance letters for two years, I decided to apply for PTA school. I was
accepted & began classes for that degree in the summer of 2013.
Fitness: I have
either played sports or danced for as long as I can remember, but my passion
for exercise did not really develop until I started working at a recreation
center while in college. In 2012 I started getting really serious about my training
and began to take on a more functional approach to how I was working out. I
began training for a triathlon and completed my first “sprint” in 2013. I like
to incorporate functional movements into my training to target multiple muscles
with a single exercise. I believe that strength, flexibility, endurance, and
balance all are key components to being “fit.”
